Shelbyville, IN (June 8, 2026) -- Knauf Insulation, Inc. (Knauf) has added a new R-19 option to its Performance+® Basement Wall Insulation product line, helping builders and contractors meet building code requirements for basement applications in new residential construction. The product provides builders with an effective insulation option for projects requiring higher thermal performance.

In addition to delivering the required R-value performance, the new product features an enhanced wider, folded-tab facing design intended to improve installation efficiency and create a cleaner, more finished appearance once installed.

All Knauf Performance+ insulation has been third-party tested by Allergy Standards, Ltd. (ASL), ensuring they have formaldehyde-free binder, extremely low dust levels post-installation, and extremely low VOC emissions at 24 hours and 14 days post-installation. The Knauf Performance+® portfolio has also been recognized by the Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certification Program, developed by the AAFA in partnership with ASL, which certifies products proven to reduce allergen exposure and minimize pollutants in the indoor environment.
