Knauf Insulation Serves as Presenting Sponsor for RG3 Football Camp

McGREGOR, TX – June 30, 2022— Knauf Insulation Inc. announced last Fall that it would be building a new 600,000 square foot state-of-the-art production facility in the McGregor Industrial Park.  The company made a commitment to the community to be a good neighbor and to support efforts that enhanced the lives of the people in McGregor and in Central Texas.  Today, under the hot Texas skies, Knauf followed-through on that commitment, serving as the presenting sponsor for a day-long football camp at Bulldog Stadium hosted by Heisman Trophy winner and former Baylor standout Robert Griffin III.

“I can’t begin to express how excited I was to see so many kids from McGregor at the football camp with Robert Griffin III today,” said Knauf North American CEO Matt Parrish, who attended today’s camp.  “At each of our facilities around the country, we work tirelessly to be a good neighbor and partner in the community, and I trust this event today is evidence to Central Texas of that commitment.”

Sponsoring the camp along with the Rhett Revolution, TFNB, and Bush’s Chicken, Knauf officials estimated nearly 150 participants and volunteers were on hand for the event that included conditioning activities, passing and catching drills, and exercises to sharpen players’ skills.  The camp concluded with a gigantic game of dodgeball.

“I have rarely seen so many kids who were as truly thrilled to spend a day with a notable athlete like Robert Griffin III,” said Knauf Senior Vice President Kevin McHugh, who is tasked with overseeing construction of the McGregor facility.  “Robert was as intense as he was fun throughout the day, setting a great example for the participants in how to work and play like a champion.”

Knauf officials were last in McGregor on May 17^th for a private groundbreaking ceremony with members of the Knauf family from Germany and members of their global Board of Directors. The new facility will bring over 150 jobs to Central Texas.
