The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) joined with Allergy Standards Limited (ASL) to create the Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certification Program. Cutting Tolerances

Consistent density and facing across the products ensures repeatable cutting. Cut duct liner and duct board with the air stream surface facing up.

Adhesive Application

Approved adhesives include water-based contact cements meeting ASTM C916. Apply to both surfaces per manufacturer instructions. Pinning per SMACNA requirements applies on liner applications above 1,000 FPM.

Liner-to-Metal Bond

Use mechanical fasteners (pins/clips) per SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards.

Quality Control

Inspect bonded liner surface for complete adhesion before duct assembly. Verify dimensional accuracy against project specifications. Document lot numbers for submittal purposes — certification credentials are lot-traceable.

UL 181 Listed: Factory-made air duct materials listing. Required for most commercial HVAC applications — Knauf Performance+® Air Duct Board is UL 181 listed.

SMACNA and NAIMA: Compatible with SMACNA and NAIMA HVAC Duct Construction Standards.
