Are Knauf Insulation products formaldehyde-free?
Most of our fiberglass insulation products are made using our patented ECOSE Technology, a bio-based and sustainable chemistry that replaces the phenol formaldehyde (PF) binder traditionally used in fiberglass products. This binder holds our fiberglass material together, giving it its shape and natural color. Products using ECOSE Technology are formaldehyde-free.

What is Knauf Insulation made of?
Knauf Insulation is a global manufacturer of fiberglass insulation for thermal and acoustic applications. It is made by melting down recycled and renewable materials, like glass cullet, and spinning the molten substance into fibers. The process is much like how cotton candy is made. The glass fibers are then bound with ECOSE® Technology, our patented, bio-based and formaldehyde-free binder.
